Sorout Prime Fuels – HDPE Fuel Pipe Installation

Installation, electrofusion jointing and testing of 63 mm HDPE underground fuel piping system at Sorout Prime Fuels, Haryana.

Project Overview

RAIPL executed the installation and testing of a 63 mm HDPE underground fuel piping system at Sorout Prime Fuels, Village Banchari, Palwal, Haryana.

The project covered preparation of the underground piping route, sand bedding, pipe laying, installation of fittings through electrofusion welding, and testing of the completed fuel lines. The network was designed to connect the underground petrol and diesel storage tanks with the dispensing units through dedicated product and vapour-recovery routes.

Scope Work

The project involved execution of the underground HDPE fuel piping network from site preparation through final testing.

Major activities included:

  • Preparation and marking of underground pipeline trenches
  • 150 mm sand bedding preparation before pipe laying
  • Installation and routing of 63 mm HDPE fuel pipe
  • Installation of HDPE tees, couplers, flanges and flange adaptors
  • Electrofusion welding of pipe fittings
  • Inspection of electrofusion joints
  • Routing of Petrol, Diesel and VRS lines
  • Connection of underground storage tanks with MPDs
  • Joint measurement and verification of installed quantities
  • 6-bar pneumatic pressure testing
  • Vacuum testing of individual fuel lines
  • Final inspection and documentation of the installed system

The project execution presentation specifically documents initial site preparation, 150 mm sand bedding, pipe laying, electrofusion welding and final pressure testing as key installation stages.

The Joint Measurement Record documents approximately 151.4 metres of 63 mm HDPE pipe, along with 24 tees, 18 couplers, 14 flanges and 14 flange adaptors.

Key Achievements

  • Approximately 151.4 metres of 63 mm HDPE fuel pipe installed
  • Dedicated underground routes completed for Petrol, Diesel and VRS
  • 150 mm sand bedding provided prior to pipe installation
  • Electrofusion welding used for underground pipe and fitting connections
  • Electrofusion joints inspected as part of installation quality control
  • Installed piping subjected to 6-bar pneumatic pressure testing
  • Pressure testing carried out with continuous monitoring
  • Project procedure required no pressure loss and no bubble formation as confirmation of system integrity
  • Individual Diesel, Petrol and VRS lines passed the recorded vacuum tests with no leakage
  • Actual installed quantities jointly measured and documented
  • Final tank-to-MPD piping layout documented through the project site plan
